# The Forge

The Forge allows users to combine $GOLD, Equipment, and Resources to upgrade their Equipment Items and boost their associated stats. Users can upgrade their base items from Tier 1 to Tier 7.\
\
The Forge offers access to the most powerful progression in Nightvale.

The Forge is the backbone of Nightvale and key to Adventurer progression. Users craft Equipment items from Tier 1 to Tier 7. Each Tier upgrade requires a different amount of $GOLD and resources, and increases the stats associated with the Equipment Item.

At Tiers 4 and 7, users also unlock a Gem slot (total of 2 Gem slots per Equipment Item). Gem slots allow the user to equip a Gem of their choice to the Equipment Item. Once a Gem is equipped, it is bound to the Item and cannot be removed. Users can replace a Gem by overwriting the current Gem with a new one, but they will lose the current equipped Gem in the process. *Gem equipping will be released shortly after release.*

On release of The Forge, there will be 7 tiers of upgrades available for all Weapon and Off-hand Equipment Items. Each tier has an associated rarity from Common - Heroic. With the release of new content such as Battlegrounds and Raids, new Items and Upgrade Tiers will be introduced to the Crafting System.

Merchants will earn a % of all $GOLD sunk into the Crafting System, split equally between the 1000 Merchants.
